Putnam City Families and Staff,
As we anticipate a return to school following the winter storm, our priority continues to be making the safest decision for our students and staff.
Due to the slight potential for refreezing overnight and predictions of possible light freezing drizzle, District administrators will be out early Thursday morning driving roads and assessing conditions across our entire district before making a final determination about school.
If school needs to be canceled, communication will be sent to all families and staff in the morning through our usual channels.
We understand that waiting for a morning decision is not ideal, but we truly appreciate your patience and flexibility. Please know this approach allows us to be thoughtful and responsive to changing conditions while remaining mindful of our responsibility to educate, without losing sight of our number one priority: the safety of our students and staff.
Thank you for your continued understanding and partnership as we navigate these weather-related challenges together.
With gratitude and care,
-Putnam City Schools
